CHILD CARE
children s ministry is our main target was started in Buwaya Entebbe in wakiso district.
After having a scenario where one gentleman who was our member and was a very good friend died of AIDs.
Before he died he called me and told me that he had left me with a responsibility to take care of his wife who was also HIV positive and the three Children.
I started helping these people with my limited resources and after awhile I received other two Children who had lost their father and they had remained with the mother who was also helpless. Now at this moment I had five Children that I was looking after. At this time the lord led me to start an organization which would help to bring Hope to the orphaned and vulnerable children beginning with my country Uganda.
I started this organization in June 2007 and we went ahead and registered it under the government of Uganda. Currently we have 92 Children in our program from the ages of 2- 16years. Some of these children are typically orphans and that means they have neither father nor mother, others lost their fathers and they are staying with their mothers and as you know in an
African setting a man is a bread winner so when he dies that means he will leave the wife in a helpless state.
The third classes of children that we have are those who have both parents but due to poverty the parents can’t look after their children and so those are under the vulnerable children.
WHAT WE HAVE MANAGED TO ACHIEVE:
We have all together 92 Children in our Child Care program. Out of the 92, we have the 20 who are critically vulnerable. These are the ones we are having in a home.
We have a plan of having all the 92 in a home but currently the resources we have cannot permit us to do that.
Because even the 20 we have in a home don’t have everything they may want to have.
Now out of the remaining 72, we thank the lord that Samaritan Purse an International NGO came in and assisted us with 15 of them by economically empowering the parents and guardians of these children.
Each guardian was given capital to begin some business. And Samaritan Purse has also promised to give them matrices. We are trying by the grace of the lord to stand in the gap and bring hope to our children who seem to have lost hope for a better living.
The work is still so big and I cannot accomplish it alone, I need friends like you to Partner with me so that together we can bring a smile on the African Child.
With the remaining 57 children, we support them with school requirements and part of the School fees as they are staying with their guardians, meanwhile we still believe God for some funding so that we can be in position to satisfy everyone.
SOME OF THE CHALLENGES WE ARE CURRENTLY FACING:
Currently we have our own land but not developed we are looking for funds to build our own houses.
The owner is willing to sell it to us in case funds are available. We need to improve the condition of living for our children by feeding them well and proving them with every necessity that they may need. We have not been able to provide all the required School fees mainly for the 72 who are still staying with their parents, we are currently providing part of their school fees and this is because our resources are still limited.
Currently we have a limited number of workers and this is due to lack of enough funds.
We have two field work assistants who also assist as matrons and a Cook, but we would have more workers because there is quite a lot to do. We would love to have our children studying in our own School with a Christian foundation, but we are still unable to do it because it takes money to organize a school.
We are appealing to all people, brothers and sisters in the lord and everyone who feels that the lord has put a burden upon his heart to bring hope to the hopeless children in Uganda, you can decide to send a donation to us and in return we shall send you a report of every penny that you send to us and how it has been used. donate now
